  • Day 2--Amelan Dermelan

I just received an email from Dr. Krulig's staff and they told me that Dermelan is the "new Amelan".  It will have the same results.  After removing the Amelan M--i used baby wash to remove it and it works wonderfully.  I figured if it is gentle enough for Kaila it will work wonders for me and it does.  No more buying expensive face wash when baby wash works better.

Face is a bit tight.  I normally use Aveeno moisturizer with SPF 30 and then put Nutrogeena SPF 45 on top...it stung.  I'm bought Cetaphil moisturizer today for sensitive skin.

My face is not peeling, nor is it red.  A little dry but that's it.  Nothing negative to report as of yet.

I'm cutting and pasting the emails from Dr. Krulig's staff:

The Protocol for the Amelan Treatment is as follows:

    AMELAN R:

One single use, for three hours.  A thin layer, all over the face.

Remove with soap and water.  Recommended night time application.  Apply moisturizer after rinsing.

AMELAN M: (STARTING ON THE SECOND DAY)

It has to be used two times a day, for two weeks:

IN THE MORNING, 8:00 AM:  A thin layer.  Remove at 11:00 AM (Three hours only)

IN THE EVENING, every night, 8:00 PM:  A thin layer.  All night long.

     Starting the third week:

AMELAN M:  ONE SINGLE USE, EVERY DAY FOR ONE YEAR.

(Recommended Night time, all night long)

    WARNING:

Please, do not mix Amelan Cream with any other product (sunscreen or hydrating creams), because it will dilute the original formula of Amelan, and there will be no results or effect.

Daytime:  You may use your normal skin care program, sunscreens and make-up.

Remember not to mix the above mentioned with Amelan.

Amelan allows sun exposure.  Always, applying your regular sunscreen, and following the protocol accordingly: applying Amelan M at night time.

The continued use of Amelan M for one year will prevent rebound of the melasma.  After, one year of application, we recommend 2 to 3 times a week application.

    Email #2:

    Dear Mrs. Smith,

We have changed for export purposes the name from Amelan to Dermelan; however, it is the same formula and you will achieve the same excellent results.

Amelan/Dermelan does not have an expiration date; you have to keep it well stored at room temperature.  Do not throw away the remaining Amelan R mask (you may need it in the future).  With time the Dermelan does not loose its potency.
