I splurged on Obagi
Has anyone used the Obagi Nu Derm system? I purchased it last week and am on day 3. I'm not sure what i think of it. I had awesome results with Dermalen but i do have a couple of persistent spots and thought my skin needed a change. So...i bought Obagi...it seems so harsh on my skin. I am thinking of stopping it. I do notice some lightening but i do not think i can go 6 weeks of flaky flaky, did i mention flaky???
I forgot to take starter pics. My spots are not even noticeable to anyone but me. I am my own worst critic. My skin has aged 10 years in 3 days on it. I am going to sell it i think. Anyone want it??? I have used it for 3 days.
Ill sell it for $275...i have the whole set. Here is a recent pcs without any foundation.
Here is another pic where you can see the stubborn spot on my forehead:

To Obagi or not to obagi...
So i've been hanging out on a new webboard that has alot of positive stuff to say about Obagi. However the turnaround time seems to be 18 weeks or so and not the 3 weeks that i saw with Amelan. Not sure what to do...some of the results are amazing and it combats fine lines/wrinkles which seem to be popping up alot these days.
I went and saw my Derm this past week for more Retin A and am waiting for the results of my consultation. I had to have alot of images snapped and i have to go back...we shall see.
I've been outside everyday this week and spent all day at the beach on Saturday. I hate Hate HATE HATE this STUPID mask. I sound like my 6 year old....

How long has it been?
I guess no news is good news right? I have some of the Dermalen R (the mask) left over...approx enough for 2 applications if needed. I am willing to sell this for $35 shipped if anyone is interested. LMK...my email addy is poulinsj @ hotmail . com or leave a message here and i'll get back to you.
Here is a recent pic...still lots of fading despite the intense Florida heat. How i dread summertime here...still battling Melasma. I notice my knees and ankles are darker than the rest of my skin. It's so disgusting...anyone else battle Melasma in those spots???

3 1/2 months into treatment
I wanted to update my progress. Here is where it all began 3 1/2 months ago
Here are some recent pics. I've been using the Dermalen sparingly...maybe once a week if i remember. I have had some redarkening, but i'm happy. I'm still nursing the baby...please don't send me the horribly mean emails how i am dangering my child. I'm posting this blog to help other women who suffer with Melasma. I do not need you to preach to me...
Here are pics i took the other day in natural light with no makeup. My stubborn spot is my forehead...my Melasma is by no means as bad as it originally was. I do not need to wear makeup to feel comfortable and i have not been using the Dermelan is prescribed and my darkening has been minimal. Did i mention i live in Florida and i have 4 kids at home. Also training for a marathon and forget to cake my face with sunscreen...i'm just and everyday Mom that hates this mask. So...just wanted to share this journey and i hope it helps someone out. :)
Much love...

Not using Dermelan
I've used Dermelan maybe twice this month. My Melasma has darkened a little bit, but it's not nearly as bad as it originally once. I am still nursing...weaning is just not going as well as planned. Since it's so pricey and the economy SUCKS...i'm saving what i have left and the remaining mask until Brayden is done nursing. I just can't afford the $300 maintenence cream and it makes my skin so dry and cakey. It's really dry here already and i'm battling dry skin without the Dermalen. So that's it...Here is a newer pic without makeup in natural light...
